Christopher Deane's vibraphone solo "Mourning Dove Sonnet", recorded and edited by Chris Hewitt in Denver, CO.
I've known this piece for several years, and decided to record it and make it my own with a little bit of creativity in Ableton.
The image is from a backpacking trip to the Golden Trout Wilderness in California--we came across a hillside one day that was teeming with vocal birds. No mourning doves, but I thought about that trip a lot while working on this piece. Note to self: bring recorder to bird-dense mountains.
